Mesotherapy
Every cosmetic treatment is unique and every individual has an own perception of beauty. A consultation with a certified doctor at Ottawa Vein and Cosmetic Medical Clinic will help clarify which treatment is best for you. As with any cosmetic treatment, your medical history including information about any medications and allergies will be reviewed. Then, the area that requires the treatment will be examined carefully to develop the best treatment approach for you.

About Mesotherapy
Mesotherapy is a non-surgical cosmetic medicine treatment aimed at diminishing problem areas in your body such as spot weight reduction, cellulite, body contouring (Mesosculpting), and face/neck rejuvenation (Mesolifting – Mesoglow). Mesotherapy is administered via multiple shallow injections of pharmaceutical and homeopathic medications, plant extracts, vitamins, and other ingredients in small doses to the specific areas.
The combination of vitamins, herbal products and medication that is injected is tailored specifically for each patient to optimize results. Many factors are taken into consideration to determine the most effective combination. Mesotherapy delivers all those substances directly into your skin to nourish and rejuvenate, promote the production of elastin and collagen.
Mesotherapy was first invented in 1952 in France, by Dr. Michel Pistor as a way to deliver medication exactly to the site where it is most needed. It has been shown to be effective in more than 120 conditions (i.e. cellulite, fat reduction, face and neck rejuvenation, stretch marks, wrinkles, alopecia, in pain management, sports medicine, sports injuries, just to name the few).
General
Today Mesotherapy is used in the rapidly growing field of cosmetic body sculpting to reduce or eliminate small areas of fat or cellulite, to rejuvenate skin, to tone and tighten sagging skin on the neck, arms, hands, abdomen, and legs.
All medicines used are FDA-approved for their use. In combination, medicines for Mesotherapy are used for off-label purposes.
Mesotherapy can be used as a supplement to many anti-aging regimens, including laser resurfacing, Botox®, peels, topical creams and facelifts.
After treatment, patients commonly describe their skin as looking radiant, rested, firmer and glowing.

Visual results vary depending on the condition being treated, the area being treated, the extent of the problem and patient body type. On average, patients receiving treatment for larger areas with cellulite and fat notice a visible improvement in three to four sessions but for certain conditions, like eye fat pads, patients see results after the first session.
The number of treatments could vary from 4-10 depending on the problem being treated, the desired results, the size of the area being treated, and the extent of the problem. Once you are evaluated, Dr. Bosiljcic-Stojanovic will schedule weekly or bi-monthly treatment sessions.
Mesotherapy for the treatment of cellulite or targeted body sculpting and spot fat reduction, including weight loss are effective treatments and will last, especially when combined with exercise (with cardio and light resistance training) and proper nutrition (emphasis on lean protein and low GI carbohydrates).
We recommend regular, “touch up” treatments every 6 – 12 months.
